There are so many different kinds of writing, and I've noticed through my affiliations with a lot of different kinds of writers that some are, apparently, "better" than others.
I don't understand that.
If you're happy with the writing that you're doing, that's all that should matter. What other people think of your writing types, clients, or pay rates shouldn't even be relevant.
Obviously, if you're doing it to make a living you have to pay attention to what kind of work you can get paid for. Other than that, though, do what you
like to do.
Not everyone wants to write SEO content, or a book, or articles in stuffy, academic journals. Some writers may love those things, but they aren't for every writer.
Just because you've found that you want to be a writer doesn't mean you've really found what you want to
do, yet. Take some time and look at the different options for writers. Choose what's going to make you happy.
Writing is a career, but it doesn't have to feel like a
job if you stick with the types of writing that you enjoy most. You'll be more productive and the quality of your work will be higher if you're doing the type of writing you like and feel comfortable with - and that'll keep your clients coming back, too.
